Pay and Benefits:
United Nations Staffs receive a basic allowance that allows him/her to live in a safe and healthy manner in the designated area. If you work outside of your area, you would be paid air or land transport (as appropriate) . You will receive guidance and training before and after your task.
Allowances and benefits:
You will be entitled to other benefits, including: family allowances if you have eligible children at school; and in some places if you have an eligible dependent spouse.
Salaries, grants and allowances paid by the United Nations are normally exempt from income tax.
Holidays and leave
Depending on your contract, you will be entitled to 18 days to 30 days of vacation per year. In addition, the United Nations also observes 2 paid holidays per year; these differ from duty station to duty station.
